On Friday and Saturday, the Marriott Hotel in Fez hosted an international symposium on “Procedural Laws in the process of reform: Challenges to the right to defense and protection of rights”, organized by the Fez Bar Association in partnership with the Association of Bar Associations in Morocco and the International Federation of Lawyers, in the presence of a group of judges, lawyers and legal researchers.
The second day of the symposium included discussions on the role of the lawyer and the draft amendments to procedural laws that are under consideration, especially the reform of criminal and civil procedures, as they have a direct impact on the work of the courts and the guarantees of fair litigation.
He stressed that the responsibility of lawyers is indisputable. Mohamed El-Hini emphasized that the responsibility of lawyers is indisputable, pointing out that the Code of Civil Procedure carries many misfortunes and does not serve the principle of a fair trial, but on the contrary, it restricts the right of access to justice, which raises legal issues that affect the rights of litigants.
In a video statement, Al-Hini explained that legal reform must take into account ensuring a balance between rights and duties, while emphasizing the importance of amending legal texts to serve justice.
