On Wednesday morning, February 12, National Security agents at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca managed to arrest a Kuwaiti citizen who is the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by the Kuwaiti judicial authorities.

The arrest took place immediately after the suspect’s arrival in Morocco on a flight, where a check against the database of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) revealed that he is internationally wanted by the Kuwaiti judiciary, on suspicion of involvement in financial and economic crimes.

The suspect was taken into custody as part of the extradition process and the Kuwaiti security authorities were notified of the operation in order to complete the necessary legal procedures.

The arrest comes in the context of strengthening international security cooperation and within the framework of the efforts made by Moroccan security services to pursue internationally wanted persons, especially in cases of cross-border crime.
