Judicial Police in Sidi Bernoussi Arrest Suspect in Major Drug Trafficking Case

In a high-profile operation, the judicial police in the Sidi Bernoussi district of Casablanca successfully arrested a suspect on the morning of Wednesday, February 12, for alleged involvement in the possession and distribution of large quantities of drugs and psychotropic substances.

The operation followed a report of a utility vehicle overturning on the city’s internal highway. Preliminary investigations led to the discovery of a massive drug haul inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of 1,000 ecstasy pills, 14 kilograms of hashish, 432 kilograms of “kif,” and 200 kilograms of smuggled tobacco.

Through field investigations, security teams identified and tracked down the driver of the vehicle, arresting him near the accident site. The suspect was found in possession of 59 psychotropic pills, four grams of cocaine, and an additional quantity of hashish, further confirming suspicions about his criminal activities.

The detainee has been placed under judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office to deepen inquiries and uncover all details of the case. Meanwhile, investigations are ongoing to apprehend other potential members of this criminal network.
