Achraf Hakimi Becomes the Highest-Paid Right-Back in the World After Renewing His Contract with Paris Saint-Germain

Moroccan international star Achraf Hakimi has recently agreed to renew his contract with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) until 2029. The new contract includes a significant increase in his annual salary, making him the highest-paid right-back in world football.

The Parisian club announced the good news to its fans during their match against Monaco at the Parc des Princes last Friday. The club emphasized that Hakimi, who has played 147 matches for the team, scoring 17 goals and providing 27 assists, has become a global reference in his position.

Alongside the Moroccan defender, Paris Saint-Germain also announced the contract renewals of manager Luis Enrique and two other key players in the team.

A New Contract and a Significant Salary Increase

Hakimi has agreed to extend his contract for an additional three years, meaning he will remain with the club until the summer of 2029. According to Mundo Deportivo, this agreement was reached several months ago. When Real Madrid inquired about Hakimi’s status following Dani Carvajal’s serious injury against Villarreal, Paris Saint-Germain confirmed that the agreement between the player and the club was already finalized.

The Highest-Paid Right-Back in the World

In addition to the extension, Hakimi’s contract includes a notable salary increase. The Moroccan international was earning approximately €10 million net per season (€20 million gross). Now, his annual salary has risen to €14 million net (€28 million gross), making him the highest-paid right-back in the world. He will complete his new contract as he approaches the age of 30.

A Pivotal Role at Paris Saint-Germain

This renewal underscores Hakimi’s importance within Paris Saint-Germain. The player is currently one of the team’s captains and holds an “untouchable” status according to manager Luis Enrique. Hakimi’s appearance alongside Vitinha, Mendes, Luis Enrique, and club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi highlights his central role in the team.

Impressive Statistics

Hakimi has participated in 16 out of 21 Ligue 1 matches this season, scoring two goals. He has also played in six out of eight UEFA Champions League matches, netting one goal. Additionally, as the captain of the Moroccan national team, Hakimi is considered one of the most prominent sports figures in the Arab world.

With this renewal, Paris Saint-Germain reinforces its position as one of the world’s top clubs, while Hakimi continues his successful journey in Paris, achieving both individual and team accomplishments.
