Former US President Donald Trump sparked a wave of controversy after his recent statements regarding the Gaza Strip, where he announced that Israel will hand over the strip to the United States once the military operations are over.
His remarks came via his “Social Truth” platform, referring to a plan aimed at displacing Palestinians and seizing their land.
Trump claimed that Palestinians would have a “happier” life under his plan, claiming that they would move to “safer and more beautiful communities” with new and modern homes in the area, adding that the United States, in cooperation with global development teams, would begin implementing “one of the greatest urban projects on earth.”
Trump asserted that there will be no need to deploy American soldiers, claiming that stability will prevail in the region, without providing any details on how this will be achieved.
Trump had revealed his plan during a press conference at the White House with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which sparked wide regional and international reactions rejecting these statements, which were considered an attempt to legitimize the occupation and displace Palestinians from their land.
