The urban transport crisis in Fes is intensifying due to the municipality’s failure to meet its financial obligations towards the City Bus company, leading to delayed salaries for workers, unreported employees to the National Social Security Fund, and the suspension of social benefits related to health insurance. This has put hundreds of families at risk of losing their livelihood.
According to exclusive information obtained by Fes News from a source within the municipality, the local government has failed to pay the company over 21.8 million dirhams in funds related to school and university transportation support, despite the Ministry of the Interior having transferred part of this funding to the municipality since December 2022. However, the municipality has not adhered to the terms of the signed agreement.
