Prime Minister Chairs First Meeting of the Moroccan Blood and Blood Derivatives Agency’s Board of Directors

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch chaired the first meeting of the Board of Directors of the Moroccan Blood and Blood Derivatives Agency in Rabat. This meeting is part of the comprehensive reform of the national health system, in line with the royal directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, and under the provisions of the Health System Framework Law No. 06.22.

The meeting was a significant step towards enhancing healthcare services for citizens and ensuring the sustainable and safe availability of blood and its derivatives. During the meeting, strategic issues related to the agency were discussed, including the agency’s annual work program and its projected budget for 2025. The organizational structure of the agency and the regulatory framework for its staff were also approved to ensure operational continuity and ease the agency’s mission to provide blood and its derivatives to citizens nationwide.

In his speech, Prime Minister Akhannouch emphasized that the establishment of the Moroccan Blood and Blood Derivatives Agency is part of the broader health system reform, which focuses on providing equitable and comprehensive health services to all citizens. He highlighted that the agency would play a pivotal role in organizing and coordinating efforts to ensure the sustainable availability of blood, especially in emergency situations, thus contributing to national health security and ensuring equitable access to healthcare for all social groups.

Akhannouch further stated that this project reflects the government’s commitment to upholding the principles of health justice and social solidarity, in line with the royal vision for health sector reform. He stressed the importance of coordination among all involved parties to achieve greater integration in providing this vital service to meet the increasing demand for blood and its derivatives in the Kingdom.
