Morocco is expected to experience cold weather with temperatures ranging between -8 and 9 degrees Celsius from Wednesday to Friday. Snowfall is also anticipated in elevations exceeding 1400 meters from Friday to Saturday, according to a bulletin issued by the Directorate General of Meteorology (DGM) that carries an “orange” alert level.
Minimum temperatures are expected to range between -8 and -2 degrees Celsius, while maximum temperatures will be between 0 and 6 degrees Celsius in the provinces of Ifrane, Boulemane, Sefrou, Azilal, Beni Mellal, Khenifra, Al Haouz, Figuig, Chichaoua, Tinghir, Ouarzazate, Midelt, and Taroudant.
Additionally, minimum temperatures between -4 and 1 degree Celsius and maximum temperatures between 3 and 9 degrees Celsius are also forecasted during the same period in the provinces of Jerada, Taourirt, as well as in the mountainous areas of Guercif and Taza, along with the provinces of Al Hoceima, Chefchaouen, Zagora, Errachidia, Tiznit, and Tata.
The provinces of Oujda-Angad, Driouch, El Hajeb, Khemisset, Khouribga, Fquih Ben Salah, Casablanca, Mohammedia, El Jadida, Benslimane, Nouaceur, Settat, Sidi Bennour, Mediouna, Berrechid, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Rehamna, Safi, Marrakech, and Youssoufia are expected to record minimum temperatures ranging from -1 to 4 degrees Celsius.
Furthermore, snowfall of 15 to 30 cm is anticipated from Friday to Saturday in the provinces of Al Hoceima, Guercif, Taourirt, Figuig, Jerada, Boulemane, Sefrou, Ifrane, Taza, and Midelt.
