Vaccination Campaign Targets Health Workers in Meknes to Combat Measles

The Health and Social Protection Directorate in Meknes organized a vaccination campaign on Thursday, January 9, 2025, targeting employees at Mohammed V Hospital and Sidi Said Hospital. This initiative is part of the national campaign launched by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection to ensure the completion of measles (rubella) vaccinations and reduce its spread.

The campaign aims to protect healthcare workers and enhance immunity against measles, as vaccination remains the safest and most effective method to eliminate this viral disease. This step aligns with the ministry’s commitment to eradicating the disease as part of its national strategy to improve public health and promote collective prevention.

The campaign holds particular significance, not only to ensure the safety of healthcare workers but also for its role in preventing the spread of the disease both within and outside hospitals. Vaccination against measles is considered an effective measure that contributes to achieving herd immunity, a crucial factor in fighting epidemics.
