The Mayor of Casablanca, Nabila Rmili, has announced the suspension of the issuance and renewal of car guard permits in the streets and public spaces of the city. This move aims to put an end to the chaos that plagues these activities, where parking fees are often unregulated, and some guards impose high and arbitrary charges.
A circular has been sent to the presidents of the districts in Casablanca, stating that as of December 31, 2024, they are requested to refrain from issuing or renewing individual permits for the practice of car, motorcycle, and other vehicle guarding activities.
This initiative is part of similar organizational efforts undertaken by other cities, such as Tangier, where comparable measures have been implemented to halt the issuance of car guard permits in main streets and public spaces. These actions aim to establish a solid legal framework for managing parking, contributing to better control and regulation of guarding services in public areas.
