The local office of the Democratic Justice Union in Fes held an important meeting on Monday, January 6, 2025, with the regional sub-director of Fes, attended by a team of regional directorate officials. The meeting addressed the current situation of justice workers in the courts of Fes, focusing on the main points outlined in the statement dated December 20, 2024.
Concrete Agreements to Improve the Work Environment
The meeting featured transparent and responsible discussions that resulted in outcomes aimed at enhancing working conditions and boosting functional performance. The following agreements were reached:
- Implementation of the July 26, 2023 Agreement:
It was confirmed that the provisions of the previously signed agreement will begin implementation, including improving access systems to parking areas dedicated to judges and employees, refurbishing the infrastructure of parking spaces, and addressing issues at the facilities of the two commercial courts and the Family Court Division. - Improving the Conditions of Court Clerks in Courtrooms:
The director committed to conducting a technical study and implementing recommendations to enhance seating conditions in courtrooms, ensuring employees’ comfort while performing their duties. - Repairing the Air Conditioning System:
The director explained that the Justice Palace project is still under the supervision of the executing contractor, which hinders the directorate’s intervention. An agreement was reached to expedite correspondence to resolve technical issues related to the air conditioning system. - Working Conditions in the Criminal Division:
Priority will be given to improving the professional conditions of court clerks in the criminal division, including addressing ventilation issues to ensure a healthy and safe working environment.
Enhancing Administrative and Logistical Services
The meeting also included other commitments aimed at improving administrative performance and logistical services:
- Providing carts for file transportation and enhancing office supplies once the necessary budget is available.
- Adopting secure means of transporting money in coordination with central authorities to protect account agents.
- Exploring the possibility of establishing cafeterias in courts, particularly in the Justice Palace, to provide food services for employees during continuous working hours.
- Improving hygiene facilities, with special attention to the facilities used by female employees.
Addressing Overcrowding in Courts
The union’s local office emphasized the need to allocate the old building of the primary court to the Family Court Division, aiming to alleviate pressure on the current facilities and ensure higher quality services for citizens.
Modernizing the Functional Transport Fleet
The regional sub-director stated that the directorate has initiated communication with the Mohamedian Institution for Judges and Justice Employees to modernize the functional transport fleet to meet the needs of employees.
A Call for Strengthening Union Unity
At the conclusion of the meeting, the local office called on all members of the Democratic Justice Union in Fes to strengthen their unity and rally around their organization, affirming their continued efforts to defend their rights and achieve further gains.
