Earthquake in the Ourika Region Triggers Panic Among Visitors

The Ourika region in the Al Haouz province experienced two earthquakes today, Sunday, January 5, 2025, with magnitudes of 2.2 and 2.8 on the Richter scale. The quakes were recorded at a depth of 12 kilometers, according to the Global Earthquake Tracking Service.

No material or human losses have been reported in the preliminary reports; however, the tremors caused panic among residents, especially since the area attracts many visitors during the weekend.
