Marrakech: Seizure of Over 30,000 Psychotropic Pills and Arrest of Two Suspects Involved in Drug Trafficking

The police in the Marrakech security prefecture, based on precise information provided by the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance, arrested two individuals aged 31 and 33, suspected of being involved in the possession and trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances.

The operation took place on Saturday at a rest area on the highway connecting Marrakech to Casablanca. The General Directorate of National Security reported that a search of the vehicle occupied by the suspects led to the seizure of 30,007 psychotropic pills, including “Rivotril” and “Lyrica,” as well as 205 grams of cocaine and a sum of money suspected to be derived from drug trafficking.

Additionally, a search conducted at the suspects’ homes in Marrakech resulted in the seizure of an additional 107 grams of cocaine. This operation underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement authorities to combat drug trafficking and enhance public safety in the region.
