A communication meeting was held at the headquarters of the Urban Commune of Meknes, on Thursday, December 26, 2024, bringing together the Mayor of Meknes, Abbas Maghari, and representatives of professional and union associations from the taxi sector, both large and small. The aim was to discuss the challenges and obstacles facing the sector and explore possible solutions in a collaborative framework aimed at improving the professional and service conditions.
The meeting saw a strong turnout of sector professionals, who presented a clear and comprehensive overview of the various challenges they face, including issues related to infrastructure, licenses, and legal and regulatory problems. Participants emphasized that these issues hinder the development of the sector and the improvement of services for the city’s residents and visitors.
In his remarks following the meeting, Mayor Abbas Maghari praised the quality of the discussion and the level of organization, confirming that the demands raised by the professionals and union representatives were both legitimate and reasonable. He added that the Urban Commune is committed to finding tangible solutions to these issues within a timeframe of three to four months. Maghari also highlighted that the meeting had been highly productive, with an agreement reached on a clear work schedule to follow up on the reforms, focusing on strengthening cooperation between the commune and sector professionals to ensure the success of these initiatives.
At the end of the meeting, the Mayor expressed his gratitude to all the participants for their commitment to positive dialogue and for presenting their demands in a way that reflects the needs of the sector.
