On Tuesday, December 24, 2024, an important awareness caravan was launched in Tata Province aimed at sensitizing citizens about the necessity of rationalizing water consumption, under the supervision of the province’s governor, Salah Eddine Amal. This initiative, organized by the Souss-Massa Regional Multi-Services Company, comes as part of the implementation of royal directives to address the water stress crisis facing the kingdom.
During the caravan’s launch ceremony, the province’s governor emphasized that “raising awareness about rationalizing water use is a national responsibility and a collective task, and everyone must bear their responsibility towards water.” He stressed the need to instill a culture of rationalization, conservation, and preservation of water resources, considering them as national wealth and a trust for future generations.
The activities of this awareness caravan will continue for three days, from December 24 to 26, touring various areas of Tata Province. Its program includes organizing an exhibition on rationalizing water use in the Tata community, in addition to providing practical advice and guidance to citizens on optimal water use in daily life.
The caravan’s launch ceremony was attended by a number of local officials, including the regional director of the Souss-Massa Regional Multi-Services Company in Tata, heads of decentralized services in the province, presidents of territorial communities, as well as representatives from civil society organizations.
This initiative comes in the context of national efforts to face the challenges of drought and water scarcity, as the Kingdom of Morocco is considered one of the countries suffering from structural water stress, which calls for concerted efforts from all actors to rationalize the consumption of this vital resource and preserve it.
