Ali Amraoui, an engineer in astronomical sciences and calculations, revealed that according to calculations, the month of Ramadan in Morocco will start on March 2, 2025. The expert stated in a previous interview with Le Site info that Eid al-Fitr in Morocco will be celebrated on March 31, meaning that the month of Ramadan will not count 30 days but rather 29 days.
The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs had announced that the sighting of the crescent moon for the month of Jumada 1446H was confirmed, thus setting the first day of this month on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.
It’s worth noting that Morocco follows a unique time system during Ramadan, returning to standard time (GMT) before the start of the holy month to facilitate fasting for citizens. This time change aims to bring forward the time of breaking the fast and make fasting easier for those observing during the blessed month.
