On the night of Thursday, December 12, 2024, security services at the Tanger-Med Port arrested a 20-year-old Danish national based on an international arrest warrant issued by the judicial authorities in Denmark. The warrant relates to an alleged attempted murder.
The arrest took place as the suspect was preparing to depart Morocco on a ferry heading to Spain. Cross-referencing with “Interpol” databases revealed a red notice for the suspect, issued at the request of Danish authorities, who suspect him of being involved in a criminal network planning assaults and murders using firearms.
Following the arrest, the suspect was placed under provisional detention, under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor, to continue investigations and uncover further details about the case, as well as to confirm the criminal acts attributed to him.
This operation is part of Morocco’s ongoing efforts to strengthen international cooperation in the fight against transnational crime, underscoring the country’s commitment to contributing effectively to regional and global security and stability.
