The Anti-Gang Unit of Marrakech Police, in close coordination with the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST), successfully arrested two individuals suspected of involvement in the trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances. This operation, carried out on Friday, December 13, marks another significant step in combating organized crime in the city.
The arrests took place in the “Targa” area of Marrakech, where the security forces intercepted a light vehicle carrying the two suspects, aged 29 and 30. Upon searching the vehicle, authorities discovered 900 psychotropic pills of the “Rivotril” type, one of the most prevalent and dangerous substances.
The detainees have been placed under judicial custody as part of an investigation supervised by the competent Public Prosecution. The ongoing inquiry aims to determine the extent of their criminal activities and uncover any potential accomplices or links to a broader network.
This operation is part of the ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to combat the spread of drugs and psychotropic substances, which pose a direct threat to public health and societal safety. The operation underscores the professionalism of security forces in tackling organized crime and ensuring the protection of citizens from these dangers.
