Residents of Oued Fes Face Deteriorating Conditions Due to Illegal Occupation of Public Property

The residents of Oued Fes, located in the Moulay Yacoub district of Fes, are suffering from deteriorating conditions due to the illegal and chaotic occupation of public spaces. Streets 24 and 25 have turned into unregulated markets for fruits and vegetables, severely affecting the quality of life for local inhabitants. The area is plagued by piles of waste, the spread of insects and rodents, and constant noise from arguments among vendors.

The situation in the neighborhood has reached a crisis point, as the living conditions have sharply deteriorated. Residents, who once took pride in their homes, are now forced to sell them in a desperate attempt to escape this situation. However, the significant drop in property prices has left many disappointed and further complicated their circumstances.

Despite various campaigns launched by authorities to reclaim public property in other parts of Fes, Oued Fes has not received serious attention, adding to the frustration of its residents. They have called for immediate and decisive intervention to restore order in their neighborhood, following the example of other districts in the city.

The community is now relying on the urgent intervention of the regional governor, Mohaeddine Al-Jamayi, to restore order and dignity to their area, which has become a symbol of their suffering. This issue highlights the need for a comprehensive approach to address the violations and develop a proper urban environment that guarantees residents’ rights to live with dignity.
