Ministry of Health and Social Protection Denies Rumors and Misinformation Regarding the Vaccination Catch-Up Campaign

In light of the circulation of audio recordings questioning the safety of vaccines approved in Morocco and containing misleading information about the catch-up vaccination campaign, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection categorically denies the validity of these false claims. The ministry reaffirms the safety of all vaccines approved in Morocco, emphasizing their vital role in protecting children’s health against diseases.

The ministry also confirms that this campaign, which began on October 28, 2024, and is still ongoing, is organized in collaboration with the Ministry of National Education, Preschool Education and Sports, the Ministry of Interior, and the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, along with other local partners. This initiative aims to solidify Morocco’s achievements in vaccination and combating epidemic diseases, focusing primarily on catching up vaccinations against several infectious diseases such as polio, diphtheria, whooping cough, measles, and tetanus.

Furthermore, the ministry reiterates that all vaccines administered to children in Morocco adhere to strict international standards regarding quality, safety, and efficacy. No adverse effects have been recorded from these vaccinations, which have been provided to all children for decades.

The ministry considers that the dissemination and promotion of such misinformation primarily aim to spread misleading information intended to instill fear and exaggerate public opinion while casting doubt on the effectiveness and safety of vaccines approved in our country. These claims are unfounded.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection calls upon all parents and guardians of students, as well as all citizens, to contribute to the success of this campaign aimed at enhancing individual and collective immunity against diseases and epidemics. They urge everyone not to be swayed by baseless misinformation and misleading claims.
