During the parliamentary session held on November 25, 2024, Mohamed Saad Brada, Minister of National Education, Preschool, and Sports, responded to MPs’ inquiries on various educational and sports-related topics. The minister’s remarks primarily addressed questions about advancing education in rural areas and outlining future projects in the sports sector.
Brada highlighted the ministry’s commitment to implementing a strategic plan extending to 2026, aimed at enhancing the quality of education across all regions of Morocco. He noted a significant increase in the number of community schools, which rose from 226 in 2021 to 329 in 2024, showcasing the government’s efforts to expand educational access and promote spatial equity.
On the sports front, the minister emphasized the role of sports in national development, detailing the ministry’s preparations for major events such as the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2030 FIFA World Cup. This includes significant investments in upgrading sports facilities to meet international standards.
Despite these efforts, Brada faced criticism from some MPs who expressed dissatisfaction with the written responses provided by the ministry. They argued that sessions addressing the educational sector require more robust preparation, especially given the rapid advancements in technology, including artificial intelligence.
