Local sources revealed to Fes News that the area surrounding Al-Jawamia Mosque, located on Ain Chkef Road, has been transformed into an illegal waste dump, causing significant concern among local residents.
The newspaper’s correspondent reported that unidentified bulldozers periodically come to turn over waste in the area surrounding the mosque, effectively converting the site into what appears to be an unauthorized public landfill.
Local residents expressed their dismay at the deterioration of this space, which until recently served as a recreational area for families and a playground for children. They added that the current sight of accumulated waste around the mosque has become a source of disturbance, especially with the approaching holy month of Ramadan.
Area residents are calling on local authorities to take immediate action to address this concerning environmental situation and find radical solutions to the waste problem that threatens both the environmental safety and public health of citizens.
It is worth noting that this phenomenon contradicts the sanctity of mosques and their role in society, as well as violates the laws governing environmental and urban management in the city.
