As part of the Cultural Week organized by the Higher School of Teachers (ENS) in Meknes, affiliated with Moulay Ismail University, and in celebration of the 48th anniversary of the Green March and Morocco’s Independence Day, the regional delegate of the High Commission for Former Resistance Fighters and Army Veterans in Meknes delivered an inspiring lecture on Thursday, November 21, 2024. The talk focused on the themes of patriotism and Morocco’s rich history of struggle.
During his address, the delegate praised the pivotal role played by the late King Hassan II in leading the Green March—a historic event that significantly contributed to completing Morocco’s territorial integrity through a peaceful and innovative approach. He highlighted the valuable lessons today’s generations can draw from this momentous occasion, particularly the values of solidarity, unity, and the strong bond between the people and the throne.
The speaker also shed light on the heroic efforts of former resistance fighters and members of the Liberation Army in defending Morocco’s independence. He emphasized the importance of preserving the national historical memory among youth and cherishing the legacy of these heroes as a collective heritage that must be safeguarded and passed on to future generations.
