Moroccan Golf Team Dominates 43rd Arab Golf Championship in Ajman

In a remarkable sports event, the Moroccan golf team claimed the top spot at the 43rd Arab Men’s Golf Championship and the 2nd Arab Seniors Golf Championship, which kicked off on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at the Al Zawra Golf Club in Ajman, UAE. The Moroccan team showcased exceptional skill across various competitions, solidifying its position as one of the leading forces in Arab golf.

In the men’s competition, the Moroccan team outperformed its rivals by a significant margin, achieving a total of 204 strokes, 12 strokes under par. This impressive performance secured their first-place position, with the UAE team coming in second with 211 strokes, and the Qatari team following in third with 212 strokes. This strong showing reflects the team’s excellent preparations and readiness leading up to the event.

In the seniors’ category, Morocco continued its dominance, registering 151 strokes, 7 strokes under par, to maintain the lead in this division. Lebanon secured second place with 152 strokes, while Oman placed third with 160 strokes. Morocco’s consistent performance across categories highlights the strength and unity of the team.

On an individual level, Moroccan player Adam Bresson excelled in the men’s competition, taking first place with a score of 65 strokes, 7 strokes under par. In the seniors’ category, Moroccan player Suleiman Barada led the rankings with 72 strokes, edging out Lebanon’s Rashid Aql and Tunisia’s Jalal Al Ayari.

The tournament, featuring 12 teams and 88 players from across the Arab world, is not just a sporting competition but also an opportunity to highlight Arab talent in golf. The organizing committee also announced that winners would receive invitations to participate in two major events in the Asian tour: the World Series in Qatar in November and the Saudi International Championship in December, providing an additional incentive for competitors to strive for excellence.
