On November 19, 2024, Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch delivered a speech in parliament highlighting the country’s significant achievements in key strategic sectors. He emphasized that Morocco is making steady progress toward enhancing its industrial and economic leadership in several domains.

These efforts aim to position Morocco as a global leader in sustainable transportation.
In the aviation sector, Akhannouch stated that Morocco has attracted over 150 major global companies, including Boeing and Airbus. He mentioned a recent agreement with French company Safran, signed during the French president’s visit, to expand the nation’s aircraft engine maintenance and repair capabilities.
The aviation sector generated approximately 20 billion MAD in revenue between January and September 2024, representing a 20% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
He also highlighted the strategic importance of rail manufacturing in driving economic growth and emphasized the government’s plans to increase local industrial integration in this sector. These efforts aim to stimulate economic activity and support national development.
In the electronics industry, Akhannouch pointed out that exports reached 19 billion MAD in 2023, reflecting a 21% year-over-year increase and a remarkable 99% growth compared to 2019. This growth underscores the sector’s critical role in Morocco’s economic landscape.
Akhannouch concluded by affirming that these achievements reflect the sustained efforts to strengthen Morocco’s industrial and economic base. He stressed the importance of maintaining momentum in these sectors to achieve sustainable development and elevate Morocco’s global position.
