Fes Hosts Golf Festival, Showcasing Regional Tourism and Sports Excellence

On Sunday, November 17, the city of Fes inaugurated its highly anticipated Golf Festival, a standout event for both sports and tourism in the region. Organized under the supervision of the Regional Tourism Council of Fes-Meknes, the festival attracted participants from various countries, including Spain, France, and the United States, aiming to highlight the region’s unique tourism and sports potential.

In his remarks, Ahmed Essentiti, President of the Regional Tourism Council of Fes-Meknes, emphasized that the festival was not only a sporting event but also a platform to showcase the region’s rich cultural and historical attractions. “Fes-Meknes is one of Morocco’s most beautiful regions, and today, we are committed to presenting its beauty to the world,” he stated.

Essentiti noted that the festival marked an effective starting point for introducing Fes-Meknes as a global tourism destination. He highlighted the participation of notable figures, including world champions in football and basketball, as well as presidents of international golf federations representing over 400,000 players in France alone.

The festival’s promotional efforts extended to a broader audience through documentaries about the region broadcast on Euronews, reaching millions of viewers worldwide. Essentiti expressed the council’s ambition for Fes-Meknes to compete among Morocco’s top destinations and to become a global leader in sports and tourism. The region also aspires to host the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 and the FIFA World Cup 2030.

Essentiti extended his gratitude to all stakeholders who contributed to the event’s success, including local and security authorities, the Regional Tourism Council’s partners, and the Ministry of Tourism. He also acknowledged the support of local professionals from the Fes-Meknes region, who demonstrated a strong commitment to restoring the area’s rightful prominence on both national and international levels.

Through this remarkable festival, the Fes-Meknes region continues to assert itself as a global tourism and sports hub, driving local economic growth and attracting significant investment opportunities.
