The Moroccan National Airports Office announced an important development project covering four major airports, which will include fast passenger corridors in Fès, Nador, Tangier, and Agadir airports.
The office awarded the project to a Moroccan company called “Maghrebnet Rtabi and Co.” for 19 million Moroccan dirhams, with construction to be completed within six months. The initial estimated project cost was over 21 million dirhams.
These fast corridors aim to improve passenger flow and reduce waiting times at border control points. They will be equipped with advanced automatic gates using sophisticated recognition and access control systems.
The corridors are expected to facilitate passenger movement, especially during crowded seasons like the summer season and the Marhaba operation, which sees a significant influx of travelers.
The project addresses the longstanding issue of long waiting times complained about by local and foreign travelers, particularly during peak hours and late times.
