In a groundbreaking move on the national level, Casablanca has entered a new phase in simplifying administrative procedures for citizens with the launch of an online signature correction service. The initiative, which was launched on Monday at the administrative annex in Yaacoub El Mansour, located in the Maarif district, aims to enhance the efficiency of administrative services and reduce congestion in government facilities.
This initiative comes at a time when the Maarif district has been facing increased demand for signature corrections, prompting local authorities to explore an innovative solution that would save citizens time and effort.
Abdel Sadeq Mershed, head of the Maarif district and spokesperson for the Casablanca City Council, confirmed that the service has been a notable success since its launch, which has led to plans for expanding the service to six additional administrative annexes within the district.
He also highlighted that this initiative is part of the Interior Ministry’s “Our Papers” digital service project, aimed at simplifying and improving the quality of administrative processes.
Regarding how citizens can benefit from the service, Mershed explained that individuals need to visit the administrative annex to register their details and create an account on the “Our Papers” platform, where they will also input their electronic signature and link the account to their national ID card. After this step, citizens can correct their signatures electronically without the need to revisit the annex, whether within Morocco or abroad, and at their convenience.
This service is seen as a crucial step towards enhancing administrative efficiency, especially as the Maarif district receives approximately 86,000 signature correction requests annually, placing significant pressure on administrative facilities.
