On the occasion of Independence Day, the Moroccan Embassy in Washington spotlighted the exceptional relationship between the Kingdom of Morocco and the United States by releasing a short film. The film, broadcast online, illustrates the deep historical partnership between the two countries, dating back to 1777 when Morocco became the first country to recognize the United States.
The ties between Rabat and Washington extend beyond diplomacy to include shared commitments and strategic values that push towards the future. As the only African partner to have signed a free trade agreement with the US, Morocco plays a vital role in strengthening this partnership across various fields, from trade to military exercises like “African Lion.”
Moroccan Ambassador to Washington, Youssef Amrani, recounted this rich history, highlighting Morocco’s role as a reliable partner to the United States in international forums.
