A health official told Fes News that urgent action is required to withdraw all “Khalii” products displayed in stores across Fes and surrounding areas, following the successful dismantling of a network involved in the production and distribution of spoiled “Khalia” by the General Directorate for National Security (DST).
The official explained that the continued sale of these products poses a significant health risk, potentially leading to mass poisoning, which in some cases may result in death.
He emphasized, “The danger is very serious, and immediate measures must be taken to ensure the safety of citizens, including strengthening monitoring of stores selling these products and withdrawing all batches with questionable sources and quality.”
The official also warned that consuming this type of spoiled meat could lead to the spread of severe bacterial diseases such as Salmonella and E. coli, which can cause serious health complications.
He urged the relevant authorities to intensify inspection and awareness campaigns to protect public health from these dangerous toxins being sold.
