In a surprising turn, Gabon secured its spot in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finals before its anticipated match against Morocco. The qualification came after Lesotho defeated the Central African Republic 1-0 in a match held today, November 14, 2024.
The decisive goal was scored by Neo Mohlakane in the 51st minute, marking Lesotho’s first victory in Group B and granting Gabon an early ticket to the AFCON finals.
Gabon’s coach, Thierry Mouyouma, expressed great satisfaction during a press conference ahead of the match, stating that this qualification allows his team to play without pressure. “We will face Morocco with everything we have, aiming to bring joy to our fans and continue to improve both technically and mentally,” Mouyouma added.
