Field Visit by National Immunization Program Committee to Oversee Catch-Up Vaccination Campaign for Children in Meknes

On Monday, November 11, 2024, a committee from the National Immunization Program of the Population Directorate visited the regional delegation of Health and Social Protection in Meknes. This visit was part of ongoing field monitoring of the catch-up vaccination campaign for children under 18 years of age.

The campaign, launched by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection on October 28 and running until November 17, aims to ensure that children receive necessary vaccinations to protect them from serious diseases.

During the visit, the committee held an introductory meeting with officials responsible for child health, school health, and the network of health institutions in Meknes. This meeting involved reviewing field plans, discussing challenges, and assessing the initial outcomes of the campaign. It focused on enhancing cooperation among different stakeholders to ensure the success of the campaign and maximize the vaccination coverage for children.

The committee also conducted field visits to educational institutions such as “Thomas Jefferson” and “Lemon Primary School” in Al-Bassatine neighborhood, where they observed the review process of children’s health records and engaged with school staff to discuss parental involvement in the campaign.

At the end of the visit, the committee proceeded to the Urban Health Center (Level 1) in the new city area to observe on-the-ground work and provide necessary support to the medical team.

The committee commended the dedication of the health workers and their commitment to the success of the national catch-up vaccination campaign, which is crucial in protecting children’s health and strengthening community immunity.
