The General Directorate of Meteorology has reported that Morocco will experience weather changes this week, with expectations of a gradual decrease in temperatures and possible rainfall starting Wednesday.
Hussein Youabed, the Directorate’s communication officer, told Hespress that Sunday’s weather will remain relatively hot in the Saharan regions and Souss, with morning and evening fog expected in northern and central regions, along with moderate to strong winds along the central coasts.
He explained that temperatures will range between 32 and 38 degrees Celsius in southern regions, 27-31 degrees in Abda, Chiadma, Tadla, Rehamna, and southeastern regions, 16-22 degrees in the Atlas mountains, Rif, eastern regions and Mediterranean coasts, and 21-27 degrees in other areas.
Youabed predicted a slight drop in temperatures tomorrow Monday with stable weather conditions, while Tuesday will see a further decrease in temperatures with possible light rain in the Atlas regions and neighboring areas.
The official indicated that Wednesday will witness a notable change in weather conditions due to an approaching low-pressure system from the north of the country, leading to cloudy conditions in the north, center, and highlands with possible rainfall.
It’s worth noting that temperatures have recently risen by 3 to 8 degrees above normal, and the European Copernicus Climate Change Observatory has predicted that 2024 will be the hottest year since temperature recording began.
