Morocco Receives Interpol Flag in Preparation to Host its Next General Assembly in Marrakech

In an important step paving the way for Morocco to host the 93rd Interpol General Assembly in Marrakech in November 2025, the Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance received the Interpol flag from the British Home Secretary.

This occasion comes within the framework of the ongoing enhancement of security cooperation and the strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Morocco and the United Kingdom, which includes areas such as combating terrorism, organized crime, and cybercrime.

The Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance stated that hosting this session will shed light on Morocco’s distinguished position in the field of international security and peace, and will enable the Kingdom to showcase its efforts and expertise in combating transnational crime.

For his part, the British Home Secretary expressed his country’s welcome for the choice of Marrakech as the venue for the next Interpol General Assembly, stressing the importance of enhancing security cooperation between the two countries to address shared challenges in the field of international security.

This occasion represents a valuable opportunity to exchange best practices and expertise among law enforcement agencies worldwide, and to stay informed about the latest developments in the fight against organized crime and terrorism.

In a related context, Morocco was elected as Vice-President of Interpol for Africa by a large majority, in recognition of its efforts to maintain security and stability at the regional and international levels, and its pioneering role in serving South-South security cooperation.

On this occasion, the Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance emphasized Morocco’s determination to strengthen security structures in Africa and consolidate security cooperation among countries of the South, through the exchange of expertise and experience in combating transnational terrorism and organized crime.
