Inauguration of the Specialized Institute for Traditional Craft Arts in Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra Region

On Sunday, November 3, 2024, a ceremony was held to inaugurate the Specialized Institute for Traditional Craft Arts in the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region, attended by the Secretary of State for Traditional Industry and Social Solidarity Economy, Lahcen Saadi.

A financial envelope of 32 million dirhams has been allocated to this project, which aims to enhance creative skills among artisans, particularly youth, in response to the growing demand for qualified professionals in this sector.

The institute is designed to provide a suitable environment for vocational training, employing innovative teaching methods aimed at developing the skills of artisans.

It also seeks to enhance the value of local traditional products. The institute offers a variety of educational programs, including professional and specialized training, as well as apprenticeship programs in diverse fields.

Equipped with the latest tools and technologies, the institute provides trainees with a comprehensive educational environment that contributes to boosting productivity and creativity in traditional craftsmanship.

This inauguration reflects Morocco’s commitment to developing vocational skills and supporting artisanal heritage, contributing to sustainable economic development in the region.
