Sports media sources have revealed that Paris Saint-Germain has made an official offer to Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi to extend his contract, which currently expires in June 2026.
Italian transfer market specialist journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that the Parisian club’s management has already prepared the new contract and is insistent on keeping the Moroccan star within the team’s ranks, especially given the interest from several major clubs in his services, notably Real Madrid, Liverpool, and Manchester City.
For his part, Luis Enrique, PSG’s coach, praised Hakimi’s performance, confirming in press statements before his team’s match against Lens in the French League that the Moroccan full-back is currently “the best player in his position worldwide.”
Enrique added that Hakimi is the best right-back he has encountered during his coaching career, noting his remarkable improvement this season compared to last season, and urged him to maintain the same approach in the coming years.
Regarding Hakimi’s chances of winning the African Ballon d’Or, the Spanish coach explained that he couldn’t predict this as he’s not familiar with the level of other award nominees, but he confirmed that the Moroccan national team star is developing rapidly.
The former Barcelona coach concluded his statements by affirming that Hakimi is discovering himself both as a player and as a person, considering him a real asset for Paris Saint-Germain.
