Ministry of Religious Endowments Announces: Monday Marks the First of Jumada Al-Ula 1446 AH

The Moroccan Ministry of Religious Endowments and Islamic Affairs has announced that Monday, November 4, 2024, will mark the beginning of the month of Jumada Al-Ula for the Hijri year 1446, following the inability to sight the crescent moon on Saturday evening.

The Ministry explained in an official statement that it conducted the observation of the new month’s crescent after sunset on Saturday, 29 Rabi’ al-Thani 1446 AH, corresponding to November 2, 2024, in coordination with Islamic Affairs delegates across the kingdom and units of the Royal Armed Forces participating in the observation process.

Based on the observation results, which confirmed that the crescent moon was not sighted, the month of Rabi’ al-Thani will complete thirty days, thus making next Monday the first day of Jumada Al-Ula.

The statement concluded with prayers for the Moroccan monarch King Mohammed VI, Crown Prince Moulay Hassan, and all members of the royal family, wishing prosperity and progress for the Moroccan people and the entire Islamic nation.
