Moroccan security services successfully arrested, on (date), a French national of Algerian origin at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca, pursuant to an international arrest warrant issued by French judicial authorities.
Security sources reported that the suspect is involved in several criminal cases, including death threats, causing material damage to others’ property, as well as insulting a public official and attacking private property.
This targeted operation comes within the framework of international security cooperation and the efforts of Moroccan security services in combating cross-border crime, and activating judicial cooperation mechanisms between the Kingdom of Morocco and its various international partners.
The same sources added that the detainee will remain at the disposal of the investigation being conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, pending the completion of procedures for his extradition to the French judicial authorities.
