The investigating judge at the Casablanca Court of Appeal ordered last Thursday the detention of a senior police officer at the local Oukacha prison following serious allegations.
According to case details, the officer, who worked in the Derb Moulay Cherif district within the Ain Sebaa-Hay Mohammadi security zone, is charged with multiple serious offenses including sexual assault with violence against a woman, corruption, abuse of power, sexual harassment, and unauthorized entry into a residence.
According to the victim’s complaint, the officer exploited his authority to threaten and sexually assault her during an interrogation. The complainant, a married woman, stated that she was being questioned following a complaint filed by her sister when the officer threatened her as she denied the charges against her.
She added that the accused took advantage of being alone with her in one of the police station offices to kiss her, and began verbally harassing her whenever possible, forcing her to save his number in her phone under the name “Al-Fassi.” She also confirmed that he forced her to touch his genitals, and she didn’t dare resist for fear he would trap her and put her in prison.
The victim indicated that she was forced to pay money to the officer in exchange for favors, where he demanded 100 dirhams and considered it insufficient. She provided investigators with damning evidence including audio recordings of her conversations with the suspect and screenshots of WhatsApp messages exchanged, proving the harassment and corruption incidents.
Based on this evidence, the investigating judge decided to place the officer in preventive detention pending his trial.
