Regional Health Directorate of Fes-Meknes Organizes Training Program to Enhance Community Engagement in Rural Health Care

As part of its strategy to provide comprehensive healthcare and reduce health disparities between urban and rural areas, the Regional Health and Social Protection Directorate of the Fes-Meknes region organized a five-day training program on community participation and commitment.

Supported by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the program ran from October 28 to November 1, 2024.

This initiative aligns with the Ministry of Health and Social Protection’s goals to promote sustainable healthcare for all citizens, following the New Development Model and the 2030 Sustainable Health Plan, which emphasize citizen involvement as a cornerstone of participatory democracy and human capital enhancement.

The training aimed to improve the skills of healthcare professionals working in rural and remote areas, especially those involved in the “Raya” program for cold-weather response. The program emphasized skill development in community health and engagement.

Participants expressed their satisfaction with the program through theoretical presentations and group discussions, acknowledging the acquired skills and knowledge that will help bolster community health efforts in their local environments.

Through such initiatives, the Directorate seeks to elevate healthcare services, particularly in relatively marginalized areas, reflecting its commitment to implementing the national health strategy to enhance public health and achieve sustainable health development.
