BREAKING: Trial of YouTuber Accused of Insulting Amazigh People Postponed in El Jadida

The Court of First Instance in El Jadida decided today, Thursday, to postpone the case of YouTuber Ilyas El Malki to November 12. Media sources reported that the defendant fainted upon hearing the postponement decision.

El Malki, currently detained at the Sidi Moussa local prison in El Jadida, faces charges of inciting hatred and discrimination, public indecency, public insult, defamation, and drug use, following the publication of a video containing insults directed at the Amazigh people.

The investigating judge at the Court of First Instance in El Jadida had previously ordered Ilyas El Malki’s detention at Sidi Moussa local prison, following his arrest and presentation to the public prosecutor after the expiration of his custody period. This decision came after complaints were filed by human rights associations and Amazigh civil organizations.
