Moroccan Audiovisual Council Approves Launch of Four New Sports Channels

On October 28, 2024, the High Authority for Audiovisual Communication (HACA) approved a new project aimed at expanding the national sports media offering through the creation of four specialized public sports channels.

This initiative seeks to bolster the presence of Moroccan sports and provide comprehensive coverage of diverse national and international sports events.

According to HACA’s statement, the new channels Arryadia 1, Arryadia 2, Arryadia 3, and Arryadia 4 will offer viewers 24/7 programming via satellite and other modern technological platforms.

The project is a strategic move endorsed by the Prime Minister, aligning with the goals of Law No. 77.03, which governs audiovisual communications in Morocco.

HACA praised the efforts of national media organizations in enhancing public access to diverse and comprehensive sports content, covering both local and international competitions.

The council emphasized the importance of strengthening Morocco’s media infrastructure, especially as the country gears up to host major events such as the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, its participation in the 2030 FIFA World Cup, and the organization of the U-17 Women’s World Cup between 2025 and 2029.

The council highlighted that these new sports channels will enrich public broadcasting services, offering high-quality content that meets local audience demands and showcases Moroccan sports on local, regional, and international stages.

Additionally, this project aims to promote positive sports values and encourage Moroccan youth to embrace a culture of sportsmanship and constructive competition.
