Dr. Chafiqa Ghazwi Writes: Vaccination – A Victory in the Fierce War Against Deadly Diseases

There is no dispute that vaccination is considered one of the most effective and successful interventions in public health. According to World Health Organization data, vaccination saves more than two million people from death and prevents many from severe complications such as mental and physical disabilities. Before the emergence of vaccines, deadly diseases caused deaths and disabilities that prevented many affected individuals from participating effectively in society and deprived many children of the joy of movement and enjoying a happy life with good health.

It is worth noting that Morocco has taken giant steps in the field of immunization, placing it among countries that have eliminated certain deadly diseases by providing 12 effective, safe, and free vaccines, supported by skilled human resources and logistics. The country has managed to protect many children from deadly and fatal diseases such as polio, diphtheria, neonatal tetanus, whooping cough, and measles, and even protects them from carcinogenic viral infections, providing both individual and collective protection.

For all these reasons, it is essential to emphasize the importance of adhering to the national vaccination schedule set by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, with the involvement of experts and specialists in this field. Vaccination should be considered a fundamental pillar in primary healthcare and a safety valve for child and community health, protecting them and their environment from diseases, disabilities, and cancers.

Through our collective commitment – parents, guardians, individuals, and groups – to following the national vaccination program established by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, we will inevitably contribute to protecting our children and achieve lasting victory over deadly diseases.
