As part of ongoing efforts to combat drugs and crime, judicial police officers in Fez apprehended three individuals aged between 27 and 35 on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, suspected of involvement in the possession and distribution of controlled substances.
The operation was carried out based on accurate intelligence provided by the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance. The suspects were intercepted while in a compact car in the Al-Massira neighborhood of Fez.
A thorough search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 4,425 illicit pills, including 515 “Rivotril” tablets and 3,910 ecstasy pills, in addition to 16 grams of hard drugs.
Police also seized two bladed weapons, an electronic scale, and a sum of money believed to be proceeds from criminal activities.
During the operation, one police officer sustained a broken foot and was transported to the University Hospital Center for medical attention.
Preliminary investigations revealed that one of the detainees was already subject to a national arrest warrant for assault with a bladed weapon.
Currently, the suspects are being held in police custody as investigations continue under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office, with the goal of identifying all individuals involved and uncovering all aspects of the case.
