Fes-Meknes Handicrafts Chamber Holds Emergency Meeting Amid Leadership Uncertainty

In response to mounting concerns, members of the Fes-Meknes Handicrafts Chamber held an emergency meeting to address the pressing challenges facing the organization, particularly the ongoing inactivity and governance issues.

Around 44 members expressed dissatisfaction with the chamber’s stagnation, especially ahead of the critical October session focusing on the budget.

The meeting also highlighted the uncertainty caused by a recent court ruling that dismissed the current president, leaving the future of the chamber in question.

Members are now awaiting the regional governor’s intervention to restructure the chamber and plan to hold an extraordinary session to form a new executive board.

During the meeting, the need to support artisans and advance new initiatives was emphasized, with hopes of revitalizing the handicrafts sector in the region.

Members also raised concerns about the chamber’s failure to meet monthly, in violation of regulations, which has added to the overall uncertainty.

Despite these challenges, optimism remains high as members aim to restore the chamber’s functionality and resume its vital projects.
