In a controversial development, the investigating judge at the Court of Appeal in Casablanca has decided to place businessman Jonathan Harush, owner of the well-known “City Club” group, in preventive detention at the local Ain Sebaa (Oukacha) prison.
Harush faces serious charges including human trafficking, exploiting vulnerable women for corruption purposes, possession and consumption of hard drugs, and incitement to prostitution. This decision came after long hours of investigation and based on the request of the King’s Attorney General at the Casablanca Court of Appeal.
The police arrested Harush last Saturday in a hotel room accompanied by two young women. The women were later released and considered victims in the case.
During initial investigations, the charge of issuing checks without sufficient funds was dropped against Harush after he proved he had obtained waivers from the check owners. However, the other charges remain, as 2.5 grams of cocaine were found in his possession during the arrest.
The investigating judge is expected to begin detailed interrogations of the accused in the coming weeks. This investigation will include examining the charges against him, questioning presumed victims, with the possibility of other victims coming forward.
It’s worth noting that this case has garnered significant attention in the media and on social media platforms, especially given previous allegations of Harush committing sexual assaults and violating the rights of his employees.
The case remains in the spotlight of Moroccan public opinion, awaiting the outcomes of upcoming investigations and whether they will reveal more details about the accusations against the well-known businessman.
This case continues to be closely watched by the Moroccan public, pending the results of forthcoming investigations and whether they will uncover more details about the accusations against the well-known businessman.
