Rabat – The Ministry of Royal Palaces, Ceremonies and Decorations announced today, Thursday, that His Majesty King Mohammed VI will preside over the opening of the first session of the fourth legislative year of the eleventh legislative term tomorrow, Friday.
According to the statement issued by the Ministry, the opening ceremony will take place at the Parliament headquarters on Friday, October 11, 2024, corresponding to 7 Rabi’ al-Thani 1446 AH.
His Majesty the King is scheduled to deliver a royal speech before members of both houses of Parliament: the House of Representatives and the House of Councillors. The royal address will be broadcast live on national radio and television channels starting at 4:40 PM.
It is worth noting that this opening comes within the framework of the usual constitutional practice, where the King opens the autumn parliamentary session each year with a speech outlining the general orientations of national policy and legislative priorities for the coming period.
The royal speech is expected to address a number of important issues of concern to Moroccan public opinion, including the economic and social challenges facing the kingdom, as well as regional and international files related to Moroccan national interests.
This occasion is considered an opportunity to renew direct communication between the royal institution and the legislative institution, and an affirmation of the pivotal role of Parliament in the political and democratic life of the Kingdom of Morocco.
