On the morning of Wednesday, October 2, 2024, Abdellatif Hammouchi, Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, welcomed Vice Admiral Edward Algreen, the UK’s Senior Military Advisor for the Middle East and North Africa, during a working visit to Morocco.
The meeting, held at the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance headquarters in Rabat, was attended by British Ambassador Simon Martin, officers from the British Embassy, and senior officials from the Directorate General of National Security.
Discussions focused on regional and international security challenges, including networks of illegal migration and transnational organized crime.
Both sides also explored ways to enhance cooperation in organizing major global events, such as the INTERPOL General Assembly, the Africa Cup of Nations, and the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
They further discussed scientific and technical collaboration, particularly in the field of explosives, to strengthen the security partnership between the two countries.
The British military advisor praised Morocco’s role in reinforcing regional and international security, while Hammouchi reaffirmed Morocco’s commitment to bolstering cooperation with the UK for the benefit of both friendly nations.
