Rocket from Lebanon Lands in Jordan Without Casualties or Damage

Jordanian official sources reported the landing of a rocket in an uninhabited desert area in Jordan, in an unprecedented incident raising concerns about the expansion of conflict in the region.

The Jordanian Armed Forces confirmed in a statement that a “Grad rocket” fell in the Al-Muwaqqar area in the Amman Governorate during the night between September 28 and 29, 2024. The statement indicated that the rocket was launched from southern Lebanon, without specifying the party responsible for its launch.

The Armed Forces clarified that no human casualties or material damage were recorded as a result of the rocket’s impact, noting that they had sent specialized teams to the incident site to investigate and collect evidence.

In a related context, some media reports suggested the fall of a rocket in the Al-Bahira area in the Jordanian city of Salt. However, this information has not been officially confirmed yet. It is likely that there is conflicting information about the rocket’s landing site or the possibility of multiple incidents.

This incident comes amid escalating tensions in the region, raising fears of potential conflict spillover to neighboring countries. Jordanian authorities affirm that they are closely monitoring the situation and taking all necessary measures to ensure the kingdom’s security and safety.

The Jordanian government called on all parties to exercise restraint and avoid escalation, emphasizing the need to respect the sovereignty of states and not jeopardize regional security.

It is worth noting that this incident is the first of its kind where a rocket from Lebanon has reached Jordanian territory, marking a serious development in the dynamics of regional conflict.
