The Mohammed VI Foundation for the Reintegration of Prisoners, in collaboration with the local prison administration, the province of Al Hoceima, the regional health and social protection delegation, the Tangier University Hospital, and the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima Regional Council, has launched a health initiative under the theme “Enhancing Healthcare for Reintegration.”
This initiative highlights the foundation’s commitment to providing comprehensive healthcare for inmates, reflecting the social responsibility the institution dedicates to this vulnerable group.
In a statement to the Moroccan News Agency (MAP), Mohammed Al-Moqademi, regional coordinator for the Mohammed VI Foundation in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, explained that the medical caravan benefited around 200 male and female inmates, offering services in seven key medical specialties: cardiology, pulmonology, mental health, dermatology, ophthalmology and vision testing, endocrinology and diabetes, and urology.
The caravan was supervised by a team of 14 specialized doctors, supported by several paramedical staff, with medications and equipment provided to ensure efficient healthcare delivery.
Al-Moqademi added that the medical caravan, which began in Tangier, was carried out smoothly within the prison, receiving positive feedback from the inmates.
This initiative is part of a series of caravans organized by the Mohammed VI Foundation, in line with the royal vision aimed at improving healthcare services in prisons and bringing specialized medical care closer to inmates, thereby supporting their reintegration and social rehabilitation.
